Biography

"I am Henry Fantoni, a media composer, music producer and live sound engineer based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. I am on a journey to make my mark in the world of music, driven by an unwavering love for cinematic soundscapes and a deep respect for the composers who have shaped the art form. I draw inspiration from Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar), Jeremy Soule (Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind), John Williams (Jurassic Park, Star Wars) and Alex Moukala (Avengers: Endgame). Their unique blend of orchestral grandeur, emotional depth and mesmerising melody has left a permanent mark on my creativity and musical vision.

From an early age I was captivated by music, and in recent years I discovered an innate passion for composition that has become the driving force behind everything I do. My dedication to developing a unique style — whilst rigorously studying the rules of orchestral composition — has led me to pursue education in music composition, orchestration, music theory, music technology and music production. Throughout my studies I have delved deeply into the works of influential composers, dissecting their techniques and analysing their scores to understand the craft behind their most enduring and timeless sounds.

I hold a distinction in Music Composition for Games, awarded under BAFTA-winning game composer Jason Graves, whose credits include The Dead Space Trilogy, Tomb Raider and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II — Warzone 2.0. This achievement represents not only a milestone in my formal education but a validation of the hours of dedicated study and creative work that have gone into shaping my compositional voice. The certificate is available to view below.

My compositional work spans a broad range of styles and moods, from sweeping orchestral scores built on rich string arrangements and powerful brass to more intimate, texture-driven pieces that rely on layered synthesis and delicate melodic detail. I believe that great music for visual media doesn't simply accompany a scene — it elevates it, giving the audience permission to feel something they might not have felt from the visuals alone. Whether the brief calls for tension, wonder, grief or triumph, I approach every project with the same commitment to serving the story above all else.

Alongside composition, my background in music production and live sound engineering gives me a well-rounded understanding of how music functions across different contexts and environments. In the studio, I am as comfortable working with a full virtual orchestra as I am producing electronic or hybrid scores. On the live side, I have worked across a wide range of venues and events, developing an ear for how sound behaves in real spaces and how to get the best from any setup. This breadth of experience informs my compositional work in ways that purely studio-based composers often miss.

I am equally passionate about collaboration. Some of my most rewarding work has come from close creative partnerships with directors, developers and producers who bring their own vision to the table and trust me to translate it into music. I thrive in those conversations — where a brief is explored, challenged and refined until the musical direction feels genuinely right for the project. I don't believe in delivering a generic score and hoping it fits; I believe in understanding what a project needs and composing specifically for it.

Today I stand ready to bring my musical abilities to the world. My aim is to transport listeners to realms both familiar and unknown, evoking powerful emotions through carefully crafted melodies and rich harmonies drawn from epic symphonic traditions and the ethereal beauty of more understated, atmospheric writing. I aspire to compose for film, television and video games, enriching visual narratives with scores that leave a lasting impression on audiences long after the credits roll.

If you're interested in collaborating, I'd love to hear about your project. I believe in a flexible approach to both the creative process and fee structures, tailored to each unique endeavour. Whether you're an independent developer, a filmmaker at the start of your career or an established production looking for a fresh compositional voice, I'm ready to have that conversation. Please don't hesitate to get in touch — I look forward to connecting."
